Survivor Snapshots July 2016

Whitney is a new survivor , in her twenties, referred from a partnering non-profit. She is already in intensive outpatient therapy and an engaged member of our safe house community. Though early in her journey to healing, we are eager to see her succeed.

Shawna is a young, vibrant, and beautiful new survivor. Referred by a partner agency, she is a fun, lively face to have around the office. She is doing well and already assisting fellow survivors in the safe house community. With her active involvement in her journey to healing, we cannot wait to see what she will do!

Jennifer was referred by Cherished Hearts, the new human trafficking court. She began her journey with ESTN a year ago, but was not ready to face her trauma and do the work to heal. Now she tells us she is back and ready to start the healing journey. Already staff sees a change from the woman we first met just a year ago. She is an open communicator with staff through therapy and poetry. Her great attitude about life and infectious personality will take her far.

Sandy was welcomed to the ESTN family after accepting a chance for new life. In safe housing and therapy, she is showing us her sweet personality and determination to progress in her healing. She went with staff on a shopping outing, excited about the new clothing - an outward expression of her inner change.

Shannon is another Cherished Hearts referral. She is working hard to build strong relationships with fellow survivors in the safe house. Her child is a motivating force for her recovery and life changes.

These are just a few of the new referrals we have received this month alone. In 2016 we are seeing double the number of referrals each month in comparison to last year.
