It’s finally August – meaning our Development Team is in full-on planning mode for Voices of Freedom, our largest fundraiser of the year! From making decisions about catering to when the invitations go out, and every little and big detail in between, it’s a busy season!
Being this deep in planning means it’s also the perfect time to take a moment to reflect on the event itself, and its importance to our mission. So, here are the top 3 reasons you should attend Voices of Freedom 2019:
Show support to survivors of human trafficking. This may feel obvious, because supporting survivors is the foundation of what we do, and to be involved with ESTN means you already show your support - which you most certainly do. But Voices of Freedom is our largest fundraiser of the year – it brings in a significant portion of our annual budget, which is essential to continuing the work that we do. From victim intakes to dental screenings to throwing survivors a baby shower, the money raised at Voices of Freedom impacts all the ways we show up for survivors daily…and who wouldn’t want to be part of that?
Help your friends, family, or coworkers learn about this issue in our state. Maybe you have some individuals in your life who are curious about human trafficking – so invite them! Host a table and bring 8-10 of the people in your life who you want to learn more about this issue and what we’re doing to address it.
Kellie Pickler! Need we say more? No, but we will! Kellie is an amazing and very talented individual, and we are so excited to have her perform at this year’s event. Trust us, you will not want to miss out on seeing her live.
With an issue as dark and ugly as human trafficking, it’s essential to feel like we’re making a difference and that we have an impact in the fight against it. When you attend Voices of Freedom, you shine a light on the darkness, and make a difference for the survivors in our care. Your support directly impacts the work we do – so, we hope to see you there!
