From the desk of Margie Quin, CEO

Dear Friends,

It was with very mixed emotions that I tendered a resignation letter to the End Slavery Tennessee (ESTN) Board of Directors this month. I have grown and learned so much during my years at the agency, and with YOUR help, we have taken historic steps to serve survivors of human trafficking in Tennessee for decades to come.

My work in human trafficking isn’t finished. It just takes on a new role with a return to state government as the Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services (DCS). I would never have left ESTN for anything that took me away from counter-trafficking initiatives because our work here isn't finished. From this elevated platform, I will be able to advocate for all of Tennessee’s children in need, especially trafficked youth. Once I learned about trafficking in 2009, I never looked back – it is my driving passion because once you know, you can never not know again. Ever.

I am moving, but I won’t go far, and will continue to advocate for ESTN, its missional work, and projects left on the road map as a member of the board. Together, we remain dedicated and laser-focused on the dreams we set in motion a year ago, to build a Survivor Restoration Campus for healing, housing, and hope. With strong board guidance, innovative leadership, devoted employees, and unwavering community support, the agency could not be in better hands.

There is too much trauma and death associated with trafficking victimization, so I’ll quote a good friend by saying, “I love you to life.” I will remain this agency's ally, board member, advocate and donor.

The vision to eradicate human trafficking in Tennessee is bold, and it will only come to fruition with continued help from YOU, our donors, allies, and friends. Can I count on you to stay with me in the fight?

I love you to life,
