Vox Grata is a volunteer choir composed of joyful women who, out of gratitude for the fullness of their own lives, possess a desire to sing together for the benefit of others.  We are women serving women.

At each free admission concert, we take up a collection for one especially effective organization serving women.  The May concerts' donations will be given to End Slavery, TN.

Rock the Chains

Rock the Chains is a student-led Battle of the Bands concert that raises money and awareness in the fight against modern day slavery (financially benefiting International Justice Mission and End Slavery Tennessee).  Band Auditions are open to any 7th-12th graders in the community, you do not have to go to BUMC to audition or attend. 

Our 2017 event is Saturday, February 25, 6-9 p.m. in the BUMC Youth Tabernacle (located on the first floor).  Tickets are $10 at the door.  T-shirts are also available for purchase at $10 and bumper stickers for $2.  The Cafe will be open with pizza, snacks, soda, gatorade, and water for purchase. : https://www.bumc.net/article/rock-the-chains/Tickets are $10 at the door.

Guest speakers on the panel include Ms. Jill Rutter with EndSlaveryTN.org, Professor Cheryl Page from the Duncan School of Law at Lincoln Memorial University, Mr. Cornelius Carroll, author and motivational speaker, State Representative Sherry Jones, Special Agent Steve Fogarty of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Special Agent Jason Wilkerson of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, and a Survivor Leader from Thistle Farms.
