TBI: Murfreesboro Man Charged With Solicitation of a Minor

NASHVILLE – An investigation by Special Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has resulted in the arrest of a Rutherford County man charged with solicitation of a minor.

On August 14th, while working in an undercover capacity, TBI Agents responded to an advertisement on a social media website posted by an individual indicating he was looking for a teen-aged girl for the purpose of sex. During the course of the investigation, an Agent, posing as a minor female, communicated with this individual and the two arranged to meet early Thursday morning in a Murfreesboro parking lot for the purpose of sex. Agents identified the man who communicated through the ads and responded to the meeting location as 27-year-old Brandon Michael Sopko of Murfreesboro.

This morning, Brandon Sopko was arrested by TBI Agents and taken into custody. He was charged with one count of Solicitation of a Minor by Electronic Means. He was booked into the Rutherford County jail on a $7,000 bond.
