Get Involved

Everyone has a skill to offer in the fight against slavery. Artists, teachers, web geeks, moms, students, business people, consumers. Whoever you are and whatever you do, you can supply a piece of the puzzle. The best way for most to get involved is to join a monthly volunteer group. See group information to the right. Here are some current needs:

  • Use music business skills to leverage a compilation of songs and videos that have been released for End Slavery Tennessee use.

  • Design a door-hanger. (Graphic design ability needed)

  • Show “Faces of Slavery” to your church, home group, professional organization or family and friends in your home.  We can make available a narrated PowerPoint presentation about the faces of slavery around the world, including here in the US (available on DVD).

  • Write letters of encouragement to rescued victims in shelters in the US. Contact Derri Smith for addresses and guidelines.

  • Buy books and media on human trafficking for donation to libraries  (school, public, church, etc.), let us know what you did, please, so we don’t duplicate efforts. We can recommend good books/resources and suggest libraries. We have funds donated for that purpose. You just need to do the work.

  • Show a movie about human trafficking and discuss modern slavery with your friends. Ask us for a list of recommended movies. We might even have some to lend out.

  •  Devote your Facebook status once a week to anti-slavery information. Retweet our tweets from http://twitter.com/EndSlaveryTN.

  • Hold an awareness/benefit event. A movie night, benefit concert, art or fashion show, garage sale — the possibilities are limitless.

  • Start a truck stop program like this one described at Ask The Trucker.

  • Party! Contact Kathryn to sign up for a home party; an easy way to open the eyes of your friends to the issue of slavery while having a good time together and purchasing items made by rescued slaves or those at high risk of enslavement.

  • Gather information: Help research and catalog services available that serve victims and/or work to end slavery.
